A Special Thanks to Special Volunteers
Working Wardrobes has the best volunteers, hands down, and we are so grateful for their love and support. Simply put, without our generous volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to provide all the career development services our clients need to get on their feet and back to work. Most importantly, our volunteers treat our clients with dignity and respect which means so much to people who have known plenty of struggles and pain in their lives.
We were honored to say Thank You to our precious army of volunteers at the recent Working Wardrobes Volunteer Appreciation Event. It was a wonderful, fun-filled evening jam packed with many volunteers who lend their time and services to help our clients find meaningful employment.
Four standout volunteers were presented with plaques for their commitment to our clients.
- The Energizer Bunny Award went to the very busy and hardworking Chona Boretti.
- Barbara Van Rooyan was presented with the Above and Beyond Award for her over-the-top dedication to helping our clients succeed.
- The Extra Mile Award was presented to the lovely and caring Myrna Capsuto
- Dorothy Evans was presented with the Mission Impossible Award for pulling out all the stops to help the men, women, young adults, and Veterans we serve.
Guests were entertained with live jazz music played on piano by the talented Aaron Shelton and everyone had fun taking photo booth pictures courtesy of WerkItPhoto. Special thanks goes to Suzanne’s catering for the delicious food and desserts, and to another of our generous volunteers, Arlene Toledo, for helping make the sweets such a treat!
The evening was made even more special with décor generously provided by LightUpMyHoliday and a special ice breaker game called “Get to Know you Bingo.”
A very touching part of the evening was when attendees cut out paper hearts and wrote about their favorite aspects of being a volunteer.
Our favorite? Having such a wonderful, loving family of volunteers who care enough to give back to those in need – to dedicate their time and talents to help our clients find meaningful employment and achieve self-sufficiency.
