Golfing for Veteran Homes and Jobs
It was a day of fun in the sun for a great cause at the recent Stars and Stripes Golf Invitational to support veteran homes and jobs.
On September 14th, over 110 golfers, volunteers, and generous corporate sponsors converged on the beautiful Tustin Ranch Golf Club for this exciting event to benefit the Orange County Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (OCVAREP) and the full suite of career development services provided by the Working Wardrobes VetNet program to help veterans find meaningful employment after service.
Guests enjoyed a full roster of fun activities and prizes, including a $100,000 shootout, $5K putting contest, $5K hole in one cash prizes, a drone drop, a shotgun scramble, exciting on-course games, great arrival gifts, and delicious food by Morton’s!
Working Wardrobes Board Committee Chair, Matt Niklas, did a fantastic job coordinating the event with consultant Jason Meyers of 19th Hole Golf Productions. Matt's company, Republic Services, was a major sponsor of the invitational. Board Chair, Justin Frame was on-hand to golf that day, as were Board Members Christine Ragos of U.S. Bank, Doug Schulein of Health IQ Corporate Wellness, Jim Bourne of Edwards Lifesciences, and Carolyn Beaver. Bob Hurley, former Working Wardrobes Board Chair, arrived from rainy North Carolina just in time to join us for this wonderful event.
Generous corporate sponsors, including California Scottish Rite Foundation, Otto USA, Commerce Casino, National MI, Loan Depot, and Everest Escrow, lent their support.
Thank you to the many wonderful participants, volunteers, Board Members, corporate sponsors, and vendors for making this a special day to support veterans on their journey to a job and home ownership.
