Our Youth, Our Future - Building Success Among Young Adults
At the heart of the Working Wardrobes mission lies our support of at-risk clients so they can succeed on the job and in life for a brighter, more promising future. We also understand that the success of our community’s future relies heavily on education and career opportunities for the youth who live here. Helping young adults succeed in their careers is a fundamental part of the work we do each and every day.
Through the years, Working Wardrobes has lent its support to youth career programs by way of various events, speaker sessions, and workshops, and our latest youth success events are another great example of this.
Made possible through our partnership with the Orange County Department of Education Title I Programs, we recently conducted two Career Success Week events for Orange County students. Each event is comprised of workshops that cover important topics such as master application and elevator speech, conflict resolution and feedback, and practice interviewing.
At the conclusion of each event, students were invited to a Career Success celebration at Working Wardrobes, where they participated in the Power of Your Image workshops and had a professional wardrobe selected for them by their very own personal shopper!
These latest events were held in conjunction with the SAGE Scholars Program (Student Achievement Guided by Experience), founded in 1999 by the University of California, and EDD (Employment Development Department for California), which is committed to helping California’s youth prepare for success in the classroom and entry into the workforce.
Best wishes to all the participants of these latest events. We have a very bright future ahead of us, with such intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated young adults living right here in our community!
