A Message from Jerri Rosen
With our vision focused on preparing for our “Second 30 Years,” we have restructured the Working Wardrobes VetNet program and our Career Success Institute, bringing in top talent to lead our client service teams. We aim to do more, for more! Many of you know Ashley Vlcan who recently served in the role of Senior Manager of CSI/VetNet. Ashley joined Working Wardrobes in January 2012 as a Career Development Intern before accepting a full-time position at our organization and quickly rising through the ranks. Ashley is a dynamo who comes to work every day with a 'can do' attitude. She cares very deeply about our clients and team, which is why I'm proud to say that Ashley has been promoted to Director of Client Services. |
In her new role, she'll put her Career Development expertise to work to oversee the Career Success Institute, including Wardrobe Services, the Job Search Lab, and all non-veteran Client Programs and Success Events.
Ashley will continue her very important work with grants and contract administration, including the SCSEP program for seniors. She's currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration which will further enhance her work in the nonprofit arena. Talk about a go-getter! What's more, I'm so pleased to announce that we've hired Michael Barrett, a US Marine veteran, as our new Director of VetNet. Michael comes from a military family with his wife, mother, and father all having served in the US Marine Corps, along with a brother, a retired Lt Colonel from the US Air Force. Michael is a combat-wounded veteran with over 20 years of service in Hawaii, San Diego, Miramar, and Iraq, where he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom II and where he was severely wounded by an IED. After 533 days of rehabilitation, then SSgt Barrett reenlisted and was deployed again for his second tour to Iraq. Upon his return home, he transferred to the Pentagon where he served as the Training Program and Quota Manager for the Military Police. Michael was also assigned to the Wounded Warrior Battalion East where he served at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and was responsible for taking care of all combat wounded Marines and their family members, from date of arrival through rehabilitation and recovery. He views this as one of his most significant assignments. He retired from the US Marine Corps in January 2014. Michael brings strong leadership, management, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills to the team. His long list of medals and military decorations (including the Purple Heart) is very inspiring. He will oversee a team of nine, including the VetNet program staff and the Peer Support Specialists with the OC4Vets program. Both Ashley and Michael will work closely to support the entire CSI and Working Wardrobes team, provide leadership and guidance, and ensure the success of our mission: Employment and life success for all clients! Congratulations, Ashley. We’re extremely proud to promote you to this very important position. Michael, welcome aboard! |
We're thrilled you've joined our organization and we look forward to serving even more deserving veterans with your leadership and guidance.
This is our path to more client success, each and every day.
